HERBS, SPICES and SUCH

This is my latest harvest of herbs from my garden. This is my first year with these plants since the ones I brought to this garden from my garden in KY did not make it. For some of these plants this is their 3rd harvest this season. I have been very impressed with the performance. When I harvest I do so with the plants best interest in mind. You should always clean whatever pruners you are using to prevent diseases and after I clean them, I follow up with wiping them down with alcohol. The other most important thing you should always do is never deplete the plant unless you are pruning back for the end of a season. I will always keep my harvesting to less than 20% of the plant. Be sure you also know how each plant should be harvested and which parts you should be using. Now there will be plants that you need to use the roots and that is a whole other type of harvest and I will discuss that and seasonal pruning in another post but wanted to get this out here to share my bounty.
